We're all about Albert Brooks up here in the Pink Smoke, so it was a joy to have Pure Cinema co-host and Rupert Pupkin Speaks mastermind Brian Sauer invite our own John Cribbs back to his podcast Just the Discs to extol the many virtues of Indicator's new limited edition blu-ray of Modern Romance.
Brian and John are both huge fans of the film so they dig into the new release, share their favorite moments and explore the darker side of Brooks's manic relationship comedy. Find out what they think of disc commentator Nick Pinkerton's claim that the movie was inspired by Jacques Tati. Discover what happened to Brooks's early cameraman Eric Saarinen. See if you agree with John that Brian sounds a little like Bruno Kirby. If you think you know Modern Romance, let them convince you that "You know nothing!"
