FOUR BRAiNS ONE MOViE:
Texas Chain Saw Mass.
"But had they lived very, very long lives, they could not have expected nor would they have wished to see as much of the mad and macabre as they were to see that day."
Prompted by Tobe Hooper's omission from the "In Memorium" segment of the recent Oscar telecast, host Bradley J. Kornish enlisted The Pink Smoke’s Christopher Funderburg and Hellbent for Horror creator S.A. Bradley to discuss the filmmaker's sui generis masterpiece The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
The trio discusses the film's brilliant "musique concrète" sound design, Marilyn Burns' sustained instensity, the work's complex commentary on morality and the recent rehabilitation of Hooper's reputation within the horror community. It's a tribute to a filmmaker and a film that will seemingly never get their proper due.
